Heath Wagoner

Sardine Hook

$275
Description

Brooklyn jewelry and object designer Heath Wagoner was raised by a fisherman on the coast of North Carolina, so a nautical motif runs through his work; the Sardine hook depicts the small fish — a symbol of abundance and adaptability — caught in a piece of seaweed. Wagoner hand-carved the piece in wax before having it cast in New York's Diamond District. The sardine itself is mirror-polished white bronze while the seaweed wrapped around it is brass.
