Andrew Pierce Scott
Thorne Pull
Description
London artist and designer Andrew Pierce Scott found the inspiration for his Thorne pull while handling the offcuts from pieces of furniture he was working on — stool and table legs, lamp bases. To make each pull, he cuts strips of sheet steel by hand and welds them together, grinding the welds down so they're not as prominent and feel smooth to the touch. He then blackens the piece with heat, adding beeswax to give it a uniform sheen and protect it from oxidizing. NOTE: Each pull is made by hand with a shape that's entirely one of a kind, however the distance between screw holes will always remain consistent.
