Handmade from clay and anchored with solid mahogany tenons, this large-scale door handle by Brooklyn designer N Shook is a bold architectural gesture. The simple, substantial form highlights the natural strength and texture of the materials, while small ebony wedges on the front of each "bolt" add a quiet but deliberate detail. The body of the handle is an unglazed, polished ceramic.

The unglazed ceramic is finished with a hardening wax and a beeswax and mineral oil top coat, which prevents it from becoming dirty or discolored with use, however if necessary it can be cleaned with soap and water. Each order ships with a small container of wax finish for maintenance.
