James Shaw

Plastic Baroque Lever Doorknob Set

$335
Color: Light blue
Description

For the past decade, London designer James Shaw has been working with waste plastics using self-built extrusion machines. These allow for a hands-on, improvisational way of working with a very industrial and problematic material. The intent is to take a material typically considered disposable and to make beautiful things of lasting value from it.

The Plastic Baroque Lever Doorknob set consists of two back-to-back lever handles, and each set is supplied with two handles, two backplates, four screws (holes offset on each side), and one 8mm (5/16") spindle that's 130mm (5.12") long to suit doors that are about 1 3/4" thick. For thicker doors, clients can source a longer spindle or contact us for assistance. When purchasing a mixed-color handle set, please specify in your order notes what colors you'd like for each backplate and handle.

NOTE: Latches, strike plates, and face plates are not provided. Also note that each handle is slightly different and unique in shape, since these are hand-made.
