Handmade using traditional craft and jewelry techniques, the Vala latching passage doorknobs by Australian master metalsmith V.Brokkr feature an aged-brass backplate paired with a cast-copper cylinder that's scooped out on top and filled with colorful, high-gloss vitreous enamel. The process of firing the enamel into the center is similar to the process of glazing ceramics, where each piece acquires its own unique character, so there will be some variations in color from knob to knob. The Vala's backplate screws are offset for ease of back-to-back installation. They are suitable for solid-wood doors only. V.Brokkr also offers matching Vala cabinet knobs.
