Reinoud Oudshoorn
Dutch artist Reinoud Oudshoorn is known for applying the illusory language of painting in three-dimensional sculptures, forming a bridge between the spatial illusion of a flat surface and the concrete reality of a physical object. His work is minimal in language, harmonious, and often composed to capture a shift of light and shade or change of perspective.
His number figures, which he created in 2002-2008, hold a middle ground between house number and sculpture, and are intended to evoke a strong sense of expression — touchable and shining, like huge drops of rain.
